Department of Mechanical Engineering and SAE Collegiate Club of CAHCET organized Two Days Workshop on “Automotive Technology” in our campus in collaboration with Goodwin Motors, Chennai during 08.02.2019 and 09.02.2019. Eighty Eight Students comprising Eighty Two Students of the Department of Mechanical Engineering and Five Students of the Department of Aeronautical Engineering participated in the workshop.
The Workshop began with inaugural function. After the inaugural function, Video and Slide Presentation on IC Engines was given by the Chief Guest. The Participants of the Workshop was divided into six batches. On the first day, three batches of the students were given hands on training in dismantling and assembling of the two wheeler engines and transmission system and the remaining three batches of the students were given hands on training in dismantling and assembling of the four wheeler engines and transmission system. Each batch was trained by individual trainer from Goodwin Motors, Chennai. On the second day the batches were interchanged between the two wheeler and four wheeler engines. Skill test was conducted for small groups in a batch in dismantling and assembling the two wheeler engine and transmission system. At the end the participants were distributed with participation certificates during the valedictory function.
