The Department of Mechanical Engineering organized a “E-Quiz on Hydraulics and Pneumatics” on the occasion of “National Science Day” for Mechanical Engineering students on 28th February 2025 at 11.00 a.m.

Six final-year Mechanical Engineering students from the Department of Mechanical Engineering won the “Best Visual and Documentation Award” at Robothon 2024, a Hackathon on “Mobile Robot Development” held on 15.11.2024 at Annai Mira College of Engineering and Technology, Vellore, under the Naan Mudhalvan Scheme of Tamil Nadu in collaboration with Zeekers Employment Private Limited, Coimbatore.

The Department of Mechanical Engineering conducted a Career Guidance Programme on “Interview Preparation” on 14.11.2024, with Er. K. Praveen Kumar, Quality Engineer at Komatsu India Pvt Ltd, Oragadam, as the chief guest, helping students identify suitable career paths through assessments of their knowledge, skills, and experiences.

Nine students from Final-year Mechanical Engineering secured placements during the on-campus recruitment drive conducted by ZF Commercial Vehicle Control Systems, Chennai, on 8th November 2024. This remarkable achievement highlights their technical skills, dedication, and the quality of training provided by the department, paving the way for their bright professional futures in the automotive industry.

The Department of Mechanical Engineering arranged an industrial visit to GEE KEYY Engineering Company, Coimbatore, on 25.10.2024, enabling students to gain practical insights into working methods, employment practices, and the construction and operation of machine tools and presses for manufacturing automobile and other components.

The Department of Mechanical Engineering conducted a one-day seminar on “Advances in Mechanical Engineering Design” on 04.10.2024, with Mr. Joshua I, Managing Director of GSHEPH Technology, Vellore, as the chief guest, providing insights into mechanical modeling and analysis software and fundamental dynamics concepts like force, momentum, work-energy principles, impulse-momentum principles, and the coefficient of restitution.

Seven third-year Mechanical Engineering students from our institution, competing as “RIDE 2024 SkySculptors,” participated in the National Level Mini–Bike Design, Fabrication, and Racing Contest held on 04.10.2024 at Karpagam College of Engineering, Coimbatore, where they showcased their skills by designing and fabricating a mini-bike, ultimately securing an impressive 12th place out of 39 teams.
