Guest Lecture on Exploratory Data Analysis (EDA)
The Department of Artificial Intelligence and Data Science, C. Abdul Hakeem College of Engineering and Technology, Melvisharam, organized a Guest Lecture on Exploratory Data Analysis (EDA) on 9th September 2026 at the Technology Tower – Seminar Hall.
The guest lecture was conducted on the topic “Data to Decisions: Exploring Real-Time Applications of Exploratory Data Analysis (EDA)” and was delivered by Dr. S. Bhavani Sundar Raj, Assistant Professor (Senior), Department of Software and Systems Engineering, School of Computer Science Engineering and Information Systems, Vellore Institute of Technology (VIT), Vellore Campus.
The session focused on the importance of Exploratory Data Analysis in understanding, cleaning, summarizing and visualizing data. The resource person explained the concepts through practical examples and highlighted how EDA helps in identifying patterns, trends, relationships and anomalies in datasets before applying analytical and machine learning techniques.
An interactive classroom activity and discussion was also conducted, encouraging students to actively participate and connect the concepts with real-world applications. The session provided the students with valuable practical exposure to the role of EDA in the data science workflow and data-driven decision-making.
The programme was attended by the II B.Tech. Artificial Intelligence and Data Science students and faculty members. The session concluded with a vote of thanks expressing gratitude to the resource person, College Management, Administration, faculty members and students for their support and participation.
