- Introduction
C. Abdul Hakeem College of Engineering & Technology organised the Induction Program – Freshers’ Day 2026 for the UG and PG students for the academic year 2026–27 on 10 September 2026 at 9.30 a.m. in the college Auditorium. The programme was organised with the theme “Discover Your Strength & Design Your Future”, with the objective of warmly welcoming students into the institution and helping them begin their academic journey with confidence, motivation and a positive outlook. The programme also provided an appropriate platform to introduce students to the academic environment, institutional leadership and the importance of developing life skills alongside academic excellence.
Objectives of the Programme
The major objectives of the Induction Program and Freshers’ Day were:
• To warmly welcome the newly admitted UG and PG students to the institution.
• To familiarise students with the college’s academic and institutional environment.
• To motivate students to identify their strengths, talents and areas of improvement.
• To encourage students to set meaningful academic and personal goals.
• To emphasise the importance of communication skills, confidence and interpersonal skills.
• To create a sense of belonging among students and strengthen their connection with the institution.
• To inspire students to develop a positive attitude towards learning and their future careers.
• To recognise and encourage academic excellence through the Merit Scholarship Certificate Distribution.
- Inaugural Proceedings
The programme commenced with Qirath, presented by Mohammed Fauzan of II CSE. This was followed by Thamizhthaai Vaazhthu, rendered by the II CSE students. The Welcome Address was delivered by Dr. B. V. Senthil Kumar, HOD/S&H, who extended a warm welcome to the Chief Guest, members of the management, Principal, Vice-Principal, Heads of Departments, faculty members and students. He highlighted the significance of the induction programme in helping students make a smooth transition into college life.
- Introduction of the Chief Guest
Mr. B. Vijaya Baskar, HoD/MCA, introduced the Chief Guest, Dr. K. Karthik Velu, to the gathering. Dr. Karthik Velu is a Psychological Life Skill Trainer and the CEO of One Life – One Chance Life Skill Academy. His professional expertise in psychological life skills and personal development made him an appropriate resource person to address students at the beginning of their academic journey.
- Honouring the Chief Guest
The Chief Guest was honoured by Janab. V. Mohamed Rizwanullah, Correspondent, as a mark of respect and appreciation for his presence and contribution to the programme. The honouring ceremony added significance to the occasion and reflected the institution’s commitment to providing students with opportunities to interact with accomplished professionals and motivational speakers.
- Address by the Correspondent
Janab. V. Mohamed Rizwanullah, Correspondent, addressed the gathering and extended his best wishes to the students for their academic journey. His address emphasised the importance of discipline, commitment, hard work and responsible conduct. He encouraged students to make effective use of the opportunities available at the institution and to work towards becoming competent and responsible professionals.
- Address by the Principal
Dr. M. Sasikumar, Principal, addressed the students and welcomed them to the new academic year. He highlighted the importance of maintaining academic discipline, regular attendance, active participation in curricular and co-curricular activities, and developing professional competencies. He encouraged students to make their college years productive by balancing academic learning with skill development and personal growth.
- Address by the Vice-Principal
Dr. Mohammed Muzaffar Hussain, Vice-Principal, addressed the gathering and motivated the students to approach their studies with dedication and a positive mindset. He stressed the importance of discipline, punctuality, responsibility and respectful behaviour in creating a successful academic environment. Students were encouraged to actively participate in various institutional activities and utilise the resources provided by the college.
- Merit Scholarship Certificate Distribution
One of the significant highlights of the programme was the Merit Scholarship Certificate Distribution. A total of 79 students received Meritorious Scholarship Certificates in recognition of their academic achievement and merit. The certificates were distributed by the Chief Guest, Dr. K. Karthik Velu. The recognition of these students served as a strong encouragement for academic excellence and motivated the student community to strive for higher levels of achievement. The scholarship distribution also demonstrated the institution’s commitment to recognising and encouraging meritorious students. Total number of meritorious scholarship recipients: 79 students. The achievement of these 79 students was appreciated by the management, Principal, faculty members and the entire student community.
- Address by the Chief Guest
The much-awaited Chief Guest’s Address was delivered by Dr. K. Karthik Velu, Psychological Life Skill Trainer and CEO of One Life – One Chance Life Skill Academy. His session focused on the importance of understanding one’s strengths, developing self-confidence and maintaining a positive approach towards life and career. He encouraged students to identify their individual potential and use their college years effectively for personal and professional development.
The Chief Guest also emphasised the significance of:
• Self-awareness and self-confidence
• Positive thinking
• Goal setting
• Effective communication
• Emotional and interpersonal skills
• Developing a growth-oriented mindset
• Overcoming fear and hesitation

- Student Participation and Engagement
The Freshers’ Day programme provided an opportunity for students to participate in and witness a formal institutional event. The involvement of II CSE students in the Qirath, Thamizhthaai Vaazhthu and National Anthem added a sense of student participation and responsibility. The programme also helped newly admitted students become familiar with the college’s leadership and academic community. It created an atmosphere of enthusiasm and belonging among the students.
- Vote of Thanks
The Vote of Thanks was proposed by Dr. Irshad Ahmed, Associate Professor, MBA Department. He expressed sincere gratitude to the Chief Guest, management representatives, Principal, Vice-Principal, Heads of Departments, faculty members, coordinators, student volunteers and all those who contributed to the successful conduct of the programme.
- National Anthem
The programme concluded with the National Anthem, rendered by the II CSE students, marking the formal conclusion of the Freshers’ Day celebration.
- Outcome of the Programme
The Induction Program – Freshers’ Day 2026 successfully achieved its intended objectives. The programme:
1. Provided a warm and meaningful welcome to UG and PG students.
2. Helped students understand the importance of beginning their academic journey with clear goals.
3. Motivated students to recognise and develop their strengths.
4. Created awareness about the importance of life skills and personal development.
5. Encouraged students to develop confidence and a positive attitude.
6. Strengthened the sense of belonging among students and the institution.
7. Recognised 79 meritorious students through the Merit Scholarship Certificate Distribution.
8. Encouraged the wider student community to pursue academic excellence.
9. Provided students with an opportunity to listen to and interact with an experienced psychological life-skill trainer.
10. Set a positive and motivational tone for the academic year 2026–27.
- Conclusion
The Induction Program – Freshers’ Day 2026 was successfully conducted at C. Abdul Hakeem College of Engineering & Technology on 10 September 2026. The programme combined institutional orientation, motivational guidance, recognition of academic achievement and student participation. The presence of Dr. K. Karthik Velu as the Chief Guest added considerable value to the occasion through his motivational and life-skill-oriented address. The Merit Scholarship Certificate Distribution to 79 meritorious students was another major highlight of the event and served as an inspiration for students to pursue academic excellence. The programme concluded on a positive note, encouraging students to discover their strengths, develop their potential and design a successful future. Overall, the event provided an inspiring and memorable beginning to the academic year 2026–27.
