Department of Computer Science and Engineering organized Two Days Workshop on “Data Analytics & Machine Learning” in association with CSI & Kalam Trust, Bangalore on 30.08.2019 & 31.08.2019 for third-year computer science and engineering students. The intent of this workshop is to make students aware in Analytics so that they can quickly start working towards the dream job in Analytics space post their Graduation.
The first session was an introduction to Data Analytics. The second session was completely Hands-on, the following areas are covered in this session.
- Exploratory Data Analytics
- How to import data in R
- Univariate Analysis
- Bivariate Analysis
- Multivariate Analysis
- How to dig deep into the data to get insights
- Scatter Plot
- Bar Chart
- Line Chart
- Histograms
- Boxplot
The third session was also completely Hands-on,the following areas are covered in this session.
Hands-on R Language
- Arithmetic operations using R
- Looping statements
- Functions in R
- Different data types
Data manipulation using below packages

The final session was also completely Hands-on, the following areas are covered in this session.
MACHINE LEARNING:
- Explanation of Algorithms, Machine Learning Techniques
- Case Studies on Linear Regression, Logistic Regression and Clustering Techniques using real-time data sets
Resource persons are from various IT companies. They are primarily working on leveraging data science, advanced analytics, machine learning to build large- scale intelligent systems. Mr. Ram Reddy, Data Scientist, Bridge i2i, Worked on Python, R, ML Techniques, QlikView, Visualization Techniques.
The resource person was also addressed various job opportunities in the field of Data Analytics and Machine Learning for final years too. This workshop was organized to facilitate the student to effectively learn Data Analytics in R language and Machine Learning tools & techniques to undertake projects and research work in their final years. This Two Days Workshop on \”Data Analytics & Machine Learning\” was well coordinated by the Computer Science and Engineering department faculties, Mr. S. Suresh & Mr. P. Nandakumar and it was wholeheartedly supported by the Head of the Department, Mrs. Dr. S.Sheik Faritha Begum.
