




The Department of Science & Humanities, through the English Club of C. Abdul Hakeem College of Engineering and Technology, organized ProComm Speak-X on 12th February at 10:20 a.m. in the EEE Seminar Hall. The program began with a warm Welcome Address by Dr. B. V. Senthil Kumar, Head of the Department, who extended his greetings to the Chief Guest, management, faculty members, and students. In his address, he emphasized the importance of communication skills in academic growth and career success, and appreciated the English Club for organizing such an enriching program. This was followed by the Introduction of the Chief Guest by Mr. A. Vasantha Kumar, Assistant Professor of English, who highlighted the academic qualifications and professional achievements of Dr. K. R. Vivek, M.A., M.Phil., Ph.D., Assistant Professor of English, TJS Engineering College, Gummidipoondi, Chennai.
Dr. K. R. Vivek then delivered an insightful guest lecture on Communication Skills, stressing the significance of effective verbal and non-verbal communication, confidence building, overcoming stage fear, clarity in expression, and active listening. The session was interactive and engaging, encouraging students to participate actively. Following the lecture, a debate was conducted on the topic, “Technology makes life easier but people lazier,” where students presented thought-provoking arguments both for and against the motion, showcasing their critical thinking and public speaking skills. The event was organized under the guidance of the management and dignitaries, including the Principal, Vice-Principal, and faculty members. The program concluded successfully, students motivated to enhance their communication abilities and participate confidently in academic and professional settings.
