The 20th College Day was celebrated at C.Abdul Hakeem College of Engineering & Technology, Melvisharam on 24th of March 2018. Mr. S. Ziauddeen Ahmed, the Chairman, presided over the function in the presence of Mr. Sowcar Nisar Ahmed, President of M.M.E.S. (Melvisharam Muslim Educational Society) and Mr. V.M. Abdul Latheef, the Correspondent of the institution.
Prof. U. Peer, Dean of Science & Humanities department, delivered the Welcome Address.
Mr. C. Mohammed Hashim, Head of the Department, Electrical and Electronics Engineering introduced the Chief Guest Mr. M. Nazar Mohammed. Secretary and Correspondent, Mazharul Uloom College, Ambur and Dr. G. Suresh, Head of the Department, Electronics and Communication Engineering introduced the Chief Guest Mr. S. Krithivasan, Lead-India Campus Hiring, M/s, Virtusa, Chennai. They were felicitated by the President of MMES and the Chairman of C. Abdul Hakeem College of Engineering and Technology respectively.
Dr. A. Rajesh, the Principal I/c, presented the Annual Report, providing the details regarding the activities and achievements of the institution during the academic year 2017-18. The institution has facilitated the placement of students and provided 240 offers and still in progress. So far, the opportunity to attend the interview of 52 companies has been given with the highest salary package of 5.5 lakhs/Annum.
During his address, Mr. M. Nazar Mohammed appreciated the service rendered by the Melvisharam Muslim Educational Society, especially by its founder Late Nawab C. Abdul Hakeem Saheb, irrespective of the communities. He stated that the important things which the students lack are appropriate internship and good communication. He quoted some verses from the holy Quran encouraging human beings to do research. The field of rocket science would be the dominating scenario in the future. He also described the Prophet saying regarding the importance and high status given to women. He wished all the best to the students.
During his address, Mr. S. Krithivasan explained regarding the difficult scenario of placement prevailing throughout the country. There was a period when the companies were behind the institutions to get candidates. But the situation is not so now. Students should give due respect to the teachers who are the unsung heroes, putting there sincere efforts to mould the career of students. He advised the students to take care of their parents who have done sacrifice, dedicated their life and struggled for their wards like you. He stressed to have belief in God and to have patience. He thanked the management and wished the students to come out with flying colours.
Winners of various competitions and those who excelled in academics and other co-curricular activities were honoured by the Chief Guests and they distributed the mementos and certificates.
Dr. D.S Franklin, , Asst Professor, Department of Science and Humanities, gave the Vote of Thanks.
The members of the College Committee Mr. M. Mohamed Sherfuddin, Mr. S.Z. Abrar Ahmed and Mr. V. Mohamed Zafrullah graced this occasion.
