The One Day Internal Hackathon for Smart India Hackathon 2024 was organized to foster innovation and identify creative solutions for real-world challenges. A total of 72 teams from various departments participated, showcasing their technical skills, problem-solving abilities, and teamwork. Problem statements attempted by all the teams is about 47.
These problem statements ranged across various fields such as software development, machine learning, hardware-based solutions, and automation, reflecting the diverse challenges that society and industry face today. The issues presented covered areas such as healthcare, sustainability, manufacturing, agriculture, education, and more.
The hackathon aimed to encourage students to think critically and develop practical solutions using modern technology and innovation. The event acted as a preparatory ground for the Smart India Hackathon 2024, which is a prestigious national competition initiated by the Government of India to solve industry and societal problems through student-driven innovation.
Out of the 72 participating teams, 50 (45 shortlisted and 5 waitlisted) were selected based on the originality of their ideas, the feasibility of the proposed solutions, and their alignment with the real-world needs of industries or societal concerns. These selected teams will proceed to represent the college in the further stages of the Smart India Hackathon 2024.
The event also provided students with valuable feedback from the judges and the faculty coordinators, helping them refine their projects and improve their chances of success in the national-level competition. The hackathon was not only a competitive platform but also an opportunity for students to engage in collaborative learning, network with peers, and receive mentorship from experienced professionals.
