The 21st College Day was celebrated at C.Abdul Hakeem College of Engineering & Technology, Melvisharam on 4th of March 2019. Dr. S. Ziauddeen Ahmed, the Chairman, presided over the function in the presence of Mr. Sowcar Nisar Ahmed, President of M.M.E.S. (Melvisharam Muslim Educational Society) and Dr. V.M. Abdul Latheef, the Correspondent of the institution.

Mr. C. Mohammed Hashim, Head of the Department, Electrical and Electronics Engineering, delivered the Welcome Address.
Mr. Syed Amjad Ahmed, Associate Professor of Mechanical Engineering Department , introduced the Chief Guest Ambassador Dato’ Syed Sultan Idris, Ex-Ambassoder of Malasiya to Ireland and Dr. S. Sheik Faritha Begum, Head of the Department, Computer Science & Engineering introduced the other Chief Guest, Dr. S. Bose, Professor & Dean, University College of Engineering, Arni. They were felicitated by the President of MMES and the Chairman of C. Abdul Hakeem College of Engineering and Technology respectively.

Dr. A. Rajesh, the Principal, presented the Annual Report, providing the details regarding the activities and achievements of the institution during the academic year 2018-19. The institution has facilitated the placement of students and provided 151 offers and still in progress. So far, the opportunity to attend the interview of 21 companies has been given with the highest salary package of 3.5 lakes per Annum.

During his address, the chief guest Ambassador Dato’ Syed Sultan Idris appreciated the services of the students for having been placed in multinational companies bringing name and fame to their alma- mater. He indicated that the achievement of the institution could be understood from the annual report. He advised the students to acquire knowledge and be good in character since the character and the knowledge should go hand in hand. He added that students must associate with people freely to grab different types of experience and good attitude. He denoted that the young minds should respect their parents, teachers and the society. He insisted to have passion in whatever field they select, have focus and determination to solve the problems they face. He also advised to serve the nation after graduation. He recited some of the verses from the Holy Quran which emphasize regarding the righteousness of the mankind.

During his address, the chief guest Dr. S. Bose said that till there is population, there will be problems. So there will a demand for technology always. This explains that good engineers will be needed and there will be job opportunities for them. So the students should make themselves employable since the academic marks alone cannot get them suitable jobs. They need additionally communication skills and other qualities for that. Nowadays students lack self motivation which is really a negative aspect. They must have time management and should not blame the system , parents , instead they should correct themselves. He advised them to go for perfection, not to be saturated and always work hard to archive their goals. He advised the students to be updated and have awareness about the job opportunities.

Winners of various competitions and those who excelled in academics and other co-curricular activities were honoured by the Chief Guests and they distributed the mementos and certificates.
Mr.T.Sankar , HoD, Department of Mechanical Engineering, gave the Vote of Thanks.
The members of the College Committee , Mr. A. Iqbal Ahmed and Mr. C. Mohamed Zafrullah graced this occasion.
All the arrangements had been made by the Principal, the Convener Dr. Z. Abdul Vaheith, Head of Science & Humanities Department.
