Industry Oriented Course – I MCA

The Department of Master of Computer Applications (MCA) organized a Two-Days Industry Oriented Course on “Cyber Security” on 09th and 10th April 2026, with the objective of enhancing students’ Cyber Security skills and providing hands-on industry exposure.

The session was led by Dr. B. Ezhilavan, Managing Director, and Mr. S. Mohanasundar & Technical Trainer, VEI Technologies Pvt. Ltd., Chennai, along with their technical team.

The event was presided over by Dr. M. Sasikumar, Principal, and Dr. Mohammed Muzaffar Hussain, Vice-Principal. The workshop was coordinated by Mr. B. S. Vijaya Baskar, AP / MCA Program Coordinator, and Dr. M. Saadique Basha, HOD/MCA.

Day 1 : : Covered topics along with Practical Session

  1. Cybersecurity: Protects systems and data using CIA triad (Confidentiality, Integrity, Availability).
  2. Cyber Threats: Malware, phishing, ransomware, DoS, and SQL injection.
  3. Core Concepts: Authentication, encryption, firewalls, and risk management.
  4. Ethical Hacking:
    Types – White, Black, Grey hackers
    Tools – Kali Linux, Metasploit, Wireshark
  5. Linux & IP Tracking: Basic commands + find IP & location using Python (Colab).
  6. Nmap: Nmap used for port scanning and security analysis.

Day 2 : : Covered topics along with Practical Session

  1. Phases of Cybersecurity: Identify, Protect, Detect, Respond, Recover.
  2. Threat Detection: Analyze emails, logs, and links to identify attacks.
  3. XSS Attack: Inject malicious scripts to steal user data.
  4. Website Vulnerabilities: SQL Injection, HTML Injection, Input Validation issues, Scripting Injection.
  5. Practice Labs: Use PortSwigger Web Security Academy in Ubuntu environment.
  6. Tools & Dorking: Browser extensions + Google dorks (site:, intitle:, inurl:).
