ATAL Sponsered Online Faculty Development Programme

TITLE: CUTTING EDGE ADVANCES IN ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE AND DATA SCIENCE

AICTE ATAL Sponsored Online Faculty Development Program on CUTTING EDGE ADVANCES IN ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE AND DATA SCIENCE has been Organized by Department of Information Technology from 15-09-2025 to 20-09-2025.

Over the past week, we set out to strengthen teaching and research capacities in Data Science and AI—bridging fundamentals, applications, ethics, and tools. The program followed a structured flow: inaugural, thematic sessions across six days, an online test and feedback, and  valedictory.

  • Mohammed Abdul Matheen highlighted leveraging AI in education—reimagining curriculum and assessment.
  • Mr. Naveen Kumar G emphasized ethics and data privacy—grounding our practice in responsible AI.
  • M. Srinivasan delivered “Deep learning mastery: Data Intensive,” stressing data-centric pipelines.
  • Sivapriya K illustrated domain-specific data science and contextualized solutions.
  • M. Srinivasan unpacked “AI Agents to Agentic AI,” signaling the next frontier in autonomy and orchestration.
  • M. R. Senthil Kumar walked us through the DS lifecycle from problem definition to deployment.
  • R. Murugesan showcased AI tools for research and publication—reproducibility and scholarly impact.
  • Prabu Balasubramaniyan mapped big data technologies and cloud-native analytics.

  • Leti Wakuma Turi championed data-driven ML—quality data and robust features.
  • Sivapriya K reinforced quantitative analysis and statistics for sound inference.
  • Noor Mahammad SK led EDA and data wrangling best practices.
  • M. R. Senthil Kumar enabled hands-on visualization with Power BI.
  • Noor Mahammad SK concluded with research methodology in ML for engineering applications.
  • We also conducted the online test and collected participant feedback.
  • Outcomes and Impact
  • Our community reinforced ethical foundations, strengthened statistical rigor, practiced EDA and wrangling, explored big data ecosystems, and learned practical visualization with Power BI. We also gained perspective on agentic AI and research tooling—preparing us to translate learning into classrooms, labs, and projects.
