The Department of Master of Computer Applications (MCA) organized a Two-Days Industry Oriented Course on \u201cCyber Security\u201d <\/strong>on 09th and 10th April 2026,<\/strong> with the objective of enhancing students\u2019 Cyber Security skills and providing hands-on industry exposure.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The session was led by Dr. B. Ezhilavan, Managing Director<\/strong>, and Mr. <\/strong>S. Mohanasundar <\/strong>& Technical Trainer<\/strong>, VEI Technologies Pvt. Ltd., Chennai, along with their technical team.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The event was presided over by Dr. M. Sasikumar, Principal<\/strong>, and Dr. Mohammed Muzaffar Hussain, Vice-Principal<\/strong>. The workshop was coordinated by Mr. B. S. Vijaya Baskar, AP \/ MCA Program Coordinator<\/strong>, and Dr. M. Saadique Basha, HOD\/MCA<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Day 1 : : Covered topics along with Practical<\/strong> Session<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

  1. Cybersecurity: Protects systems and data using CIA triad (Confidentiality, Integrity, Availability).<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  2. Cyber Threats: Malware, phishing, ransomware, DoS, and SQL injection.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  3. Core Concepts: Authentication, encryption, firewalls, and risk management.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  4. Ethical Hacking:
    Types \u2013 White, Black, Grey hackers
    Tools \u2013 Kali Linux, Metasploit, Wireshark<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  5. Linux & IP Tracking: Basic commands + find IP & location using Python (Colab).<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  6. Nmap: Nmap used for port scanning and security analysis.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

    1. Phases of Cybersecurity: Identify, Protect, Detect, Respond, Recover.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    2. Threat Detection: Analyze emails, logs, and links to identify attacks.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    3. XSS Attack: Inject malicious scripts to steal user data.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    4. Website Vulnerabilities: SQL Injection, HTML Injection, Input Validation issues, Scripting Injection.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    5. Practice Labs: Use PortSwigger Web Security Academy in Ubuntu environment.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    6. Tools & Dorking: Browser extensions + Google dorks (site:, intitle:, inurl:).<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n
