class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<h6><b>Ragging \u2013 An Offense<\/b><\/h6>\n<div>\n<div>\n<h2><span style=\"font-size: 16px;\">Ragging in any from in any place or\ntime is a Cognizable offense that will attract severe punishment\nincluding summary expulsion from the College.<\/span><\/h2>\n<div>\n<blockquote>Extract of Anna University, Chennai Letter No. 1913\/CAI\/2009 date 28.11.2009.<\/blockquote>\n1. In this Act, unless the context otherwise requires, \u201cRagging\u201d\nmeans display of noisy, disorderly conduct, doing any act which causes\nor is likely to causes physical or psychological harm or raise\napprehension or fear or shame or embarrassment to a student in any\neducational institution and includes.\n<ul>\n \t<li>Teasing, abusing or playing practical jokes on, or causing hurt to such student or<\/li>\n \t<li>Asking the student to do any act or performance something which such\nstudent will not, in the ordinary case, willingly act or perform.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n2. Ragging within or outside any educational institution is prohibited.\n\n3. Whoever directly or indirectly commits, participates in, abets or\npropagates \u201cRagging\u201d within or outside any educational institution,\nshall be punished with imprisonment for a term which may extent to two\nyears and shall also be liable to a fine which may extent to ten\nthousand rupees.\n\n4. Any student convicted of an offense under section 4 shall also be\ndismissed from the educational institution and such student shall not be\nadmitted in any other educational institution.\n\n5. Without prejudice to the foregoing provisions, whenever, any\nstudent complains of raging to the head of an educational institution,\nor to any other person responsible for the management of the educational\ninstitution, such Head of the educational institution or person\nresponsible for the management of the educational institution shall\ninquire into the same immediately and if found true shall suspend the\nstudent, who has committed the offense, from the educational institution\nin the ordinary case, willingly act or perform.\n\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<h6>BAN ON RAGGING<\/h6>\n<div>\n<div>\n<h2><\/h2>\n<div>\n\nRagging is banned in our institution.
